I bought this to use CD installations but now most of software CDs are actually DVDs.
I realized this after I bought this.
So check the CDs that you have and buy external DVD, not CD.
In my opinion, recommend to buy external DVD, not this CD drive.

For $9.99, this is a great little drive. It's all usb powered and controlled and works especially designed for the smaller netbooks which don't have enough physical space to accommodate a normal drive.
My only con is that the drive is read only. Can't write to it, but for the price, it's wonderful! Highly recommend to all!!

Easy install and functioned perfectly right out of the box. Has a bit of
a "flimsy feel" to it(why I gave it 4 stars not 5) but for my occasional use
it's perfect especially when one considers the low price. A must for Dell mini.

Works great right out of box. I hooked up to my HP mini netbook.
I would give 5 stars but looks a little fragile? But great for the price. I will only be using a few times per year.
